Astha Projects had set up 5 MW Dehar hydro electric project in village Dehar in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. The project run-of-the river small hydroelectric scheme proposed on Dehar Khad, a tributary of Gaj Khad which joins river Beas on the right bank in Sihunte Taluk. The head works for the proposed project comprise diversion and intake structures located near Gurgu village. The power channel, desilting tank, forebay, penstock, and powerhouse are located on the left bank of the Dehar Khad. The powerhouse and outdoor switchyard are proposed near the village Bithal.The powerhouse comprises two numbers synchronous generators of a capacity 2500 KW each coupled to two Pelton turbines. The generated voltage at the generator terminals will be 6.6 KV, which will be stepped-up to 33 KV to match the nearest substation voltage level. The project is expected to export around 24.87 million units to HPSEB. The project had been commissioned in 2004
