Dharmshala Hydro Power to set up 4.5 MW Mauhji hydro electric project in village Khanyara in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. The project involves setting up of a run-of-the river small hydropower project planned on the Maujhi Khad, a small tributary of river Beas, draining in the Kangra District. It will harness the head available in its reach between Thatri and Khanyara, two villages located in Kangra district near Dharmshala.The powerhouse comprises two synchronous generators of a capacity 2250 KW coupled to two Pelton turbines. The generated voltage at the generator terminals will be 11 kV, which will be stepped-up to 33 kV to match the nearest substation voltage level. The project is expected to export around 20.0 million units every year to HPSEB and had been commissioned in 2004
