Central Financial assistance will be given to 50 projects on a first-come-first-served basis. The scheme is applicable to projects undertaken by individuals, government departments or local bodies, cooperatives and NGOs. Proposals for Pico hydro electric power schemes owned by women, women entrepreneurs or NGOs run by women will be given preference. type diversion weir, intake chamber, desilting tank, forebay, penstock and a powerhouse with 2x 2.5 MW Pelton turbines. The
power generated will be evacuated to Jarangla/Karian sub-station. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 293

<p> Dans Energy to set up the 96 MW Jorethang Loop Hydroelectric Project in Sikkhim. The project involves setting up of a diversion
barrage site of 108 meter in length and 13 meter in height in lower reaches of the Rangit river upstream of its confluence with Ramam
River, close to the village of Piple.The flow will be directed from the reservoir, through an intake tunnel on the east bank of the river, into
a 7.1 km head race tunnel, through a surge shaft and pressure shaft to the powerhouse. The powerhouse will house 2 x 48 MW vertical
shaft type Francis turbines, that will be coupled with synchronous generators. The project is progressing well and is scheduled to get commissioned by June 2012 </p>
