Assam Power Generation Corp plans 96 MW Lower Kopili hydro electric project in the downstream of Kopili HEP Stage-I Power House. The project involves construction of 70.13 metre high concrete dam, 7.25 m dia, 3.622 m long Head Race Tunne, a surge shaft, a surface power house with installed capacity of 110 MW (2 x 55 MW), an auxiliary power house of 10 MW to utilize the ecological releases.
