Sikkhim Hydropower Ventures is planning to set up 66 MW Rangit II hydro electric project across river Rimbi Khola, a tributary of Rathong Chhu in West Sikkim District. The surface power house is to be located near Chongjong village on the left bank of Kalej Khola. This will be a run of the river scheme, where only 4 ha area is likely to be submerged. The length of head race tunnel is 5182 m and the project is located within Buffer Zone of Kanchanjunga Biosphere Reserve.
