Birahi Gnaga Hydro Power to set up hydro electric project in Chamoli in Uttaranchal. The project involves setting up of a run-off-the- river scheme across river Birahi Ganga harnessing the hydro potential with 2x2.4 MW turbine unit.The project will have a net head of 49.1m and a design discharge of 11.60 cumecs. A boulder type weir of nearly 52m will be constructed across the river, on which two 2400 kW capacity horizontal francis turbines will be sited that will generate approximately 25.8 GWh of electricity (net) per annum. The project had been commissioned in 2007
