North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) to set up Tipaimukh Multipurpose 1500 mw hydro electric project which falls in two states Manipur & Mizoram. The project envisages construction of 162.8 h high rockfill dam at about 500 m downstream of the confluence of river Barak with Tuivai. The main objective of the project is to generate 1500 MW hydropower and flood control on 2039 Sq. km.

Bhilwara Energy to set up Nyamjang Chhu HEP Stage-I hydel project

Bhilwara Energy to set up 98 MW Nyamjang Chhu HEP Stage-I hydel project (2 x 49 MW)located in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The project also involves construction of a 7.2 m high concrete barrage across river Nyamjang Chhu near Zimithang village and surface power house located on left bank of Nyamjang Chhu with two units of 49 MW each. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 6000 million and is likely to be completed by 2013.
