Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd is planning to construct 775 MW Lurhi hydro electric project in Shimla, Manali and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh. The project involves construction of a concrete gravity dam of 86 meter high across river Satluj, diversion of Satluj river into two parallel head race tunnels, underground power house etc., the project will be a run-off-the river scheme.
Sumte Kothang Hydro Power Pvt Ltd (of Reliance Power Ltd) plans a 130 MW hydel power project across Spiti river (a tributary of Sutlej river) in Hurling village in Lahaul & Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh. The project involves setting up of a run-off-the river scheme, a head race tunnel (10.84 km), construction of barrage of 22 meter, underground power house (2 x 65 MW) and a long race tail tunnel.
Telling Hydro Power Ltd is planning to construct 94 MW Telling Hydro Electric project across river Chandra in Lahaul & Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. The project involves construction of a 22 meter high barrage near Grampu village , a power house near Telling villagge to accommodate 2x47 MW units. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 10078.7 million.
