HPSEB plans modernization of 60 MW Girinagar hydel project in Girinagar in Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh. The project, which is run-off-the-river scheme across river Giri is operational for 29 years and is modernized now with new turbines of 2 x 30 MW and is financed by Power Finance Corp.
