Karnataka Power Corp plans 900 MW Sharavathi Pumped Storage Scheme

Karnataka Power Corp is planning to set up a 900 MW Sharavathi Pumped Storage Scheme by constructing a an upstream reservoir across the Hinni stream which is a tributary to Sharavathi river. The project proposes construction of 4 x 225 MW underground hydel power generation units. The project is very much in planning stage and is yet to get statutory clearances.
