Himachal Pradesh to invite bids for 54 mini-micro hydel projects of 132 MW

Himachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency has received clearance from state cabinet to invite bids for 54 mini/micro hydel projects with a totalling capacity of 132 MW. It is revising certain criteria for small 1-5 MW projects and extending time for 33 projects. It also calls for 15 self identified mini /micro projects of 3 MW to different entrepreneurs.

JSW Energy to commission 240-Mw Kutehr hydropower project by 2015

JSW Energy Ltd is investing around Rs.19150 million in the 240 MW Kutehr hydel project and is currently conducting a geological survey for the project. It has appointed SNC-Lavalin Engineering Pvt Ltd to prepare the detailed project report and received its recommendations. The project involves setting up the project on upper reaches of river Ravi in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. It may be noted, the company has received the NOC and environmental clearance for the project .

Himachal Pradesh Power Corp plans 60 MW Tidong Hydel project

Himachal Pradesh Power Corp plans 60 MW Tidong Khad in Lambar and Charang villages in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The project involves setting up of a 65 meter high concrete gravity dam to generate 60 MW of power in an underground power house 130 meters below natural surface level. Since the dam is situated at an elevated level of 3400 meter in seismic zone, special design considerations have to be taken before the statutory clearances are obtained.
